Important Travel Advice
Attendees are encouraged to plan their trip and consider all the available travel options ahead of time. Tickets include travel on trains, metro and light rail.
Trains run regularly to Olympic Park from Lidcombe and the venue is a short walk from the station.
If you have to drive, travel with your group and pre-book your parking online to secure a space – available until 11:59pm the night before the event unless sold out prior.
Traffic may be heavier than usual on roads approaching the precinct, particularly during peak periods. Allow extra travel time – you can find real-time updates on traffic conditions at livetraffic.com.
Match Ticket Entitlements
Valid pre-purchased tickets to the United Cup Tennis Tournament held at Ken Rosewall Arena (Sydney Olympic Park Tennis Centre) from Saturday 30 December 2023 to Sunday 7 January 2024 (inclusive) includes travel on the following transport services, just show your event ticket to Transport staff when boarding services:
- Sydney Trains and NSW TrainLink Intercity services (non-booked services bounded by Bomaderry, Goulburn, Bathurst, Scone and Dungog stations.
- Sydney Metro North West Line services
- Sydney and Newcastle Light rail services
For travel on buses and ferries, you will need to use an Opal card or contactless payment method. See below for more information.
United Cup volunteers are also entitled to these travel inclusions.
Remember to keep your event ticket safe for your return journey or you'll need to use your Opal card, as you must have a valid ticket when travelling on public transport. Your match ticket is valid on trains until 4am the following day.
Note: an additional train station access fee applies for travel to or from Domestic and International Airport stations. The access fee is not covered by your event ticket travel entitlements.
Opal
You can use an Opal card for all modes of public transport in Sydney and surrounding regions, including metro, trains, buses, ferries and light rail.
Remember to top up your Opal card before you travel to avoid waiting in line at top-up machines. You can top up your card online or at an Opal retailer.
More ways to pay
If you have a contactless-enabled American Express, Mastercard or Visa debit or credit card, or a linked device, you can use it to pay for your travel by tapping on and tapping off at Opal card readers. Available on all public transport, contactless payments are another way to pay on the Opal network. Adult Opal fare pricing applies and you will receive Opal benefits, including daily and weekly fare caps.
Transport Park&Ride Car Parks
Park for free when you catch public transport. Transport Park&Ride provides up to 18 hours of free parking each day. All you have to do is complete a public transport trip. Located close to public transport hubs, Park&Ride car parks help you connect more easily to train, bus and ferry services.
Tickets to United Cup Tennis matches includes travel on trains and free Park&Ride parking. When leaving the car park use the intercom button at the exit gate to speak with the operator and show your event ticket.
If you use a Transport Connect account to access Park&Ride, the boom gate will automatically open as you leave the car park so you’ll need to request a refund in your account.

Sydney Metro services are high-frequency, driverless trains running between Tallawong Station and Chatswood Station.
Metro services start from the early morning running every 10 minutes until late. Change at Epping to connect with trains towards Strathfield then Olympic Park.
Please note, buses replace metro between Tallawong and Chatswood on Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 January. Buses also replace T9 Northern Line trains between Hornsby and Strathfield.
Catch a rail replacement bus to Epping to connect with buses towards Strathfield then trains to Olympic Park.

On Friday, buses replace trains between Lidcombe and Sydenham. Trains run between Liverpool and the City via Regents Park. - T5 Cumberland Line: Some trains run to a changed timetable and stopping pattern due to trackwork on the T3 Bankstown Line. On Tuesday and Wednesday night from 11.50pm to 1.30am, some trains run to a changed timetable between Richmond or Leppington and Olympic Park only. Some trains start and end at Granville. You may need to change trains at Granville to continue your journey.
- T8 Airport & South Line: Some trains may run to a changed timetable due to trackwork on the T3 Bankstown Line.
Weekend – 2am Saturday 6 January to 2am Monday 8 January
- Metro North West Line: Buses replace metro between Tallawong and Chatswood. Buses also replace T9 Northern Line trains between Hornsby and Strathfield. Change at Chatswood for trains to the City.
- T1 North Shore Line: Buses replace trains between Berowra and Gordon. Trains run between Gordon and the City, to a changed timetable. Buses also replace T9 Northern Line trains between Hornsby and Strathfield, and metro services between Chatswood and Tallawong.
- T1 Western Line: Richmond trains run between Richmond and Olympic Park, making extra stops at Harris Park and Granville. Change trains at Parramatta to continue your journey towards the City. Penrith trains make an extra stop at Burwood. On Saturday from 6.30am to 10.30am, Richmond trains run between Richmond and Leppington.
- T2 Inner West & Leppington Line: Some trains run to a changed timetable and stopping pattern due to trackwork on the T3 Bankstown Line. Inner West trains run between Liverpool and the City via Regents Park, stopping at all stations between Liverpool and Lidcombe, then running between Homebush and the City, some to a changed timetable. T1 Western Line trains make an extra stop at Burwood.
- T3 Bankstown Line: Buses replace trains between Lidcombe and Sydenham. Trains run between Liverpool and the City via Regents Park. T4 Illawarra Line trains run between Sydenham and Bondi Junction, with some making extra stops at St Peters and Erskineville. Trackwork continues on parts of the T3 Bankstown Line until 25 January.
- T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line: All Cronulla and some Waterfall trains make extra stops at St Peters and Erskineville. Daily from 8am to 8pm, extra trains run between Hurstville and Bondi Junction.
- T5 Cumberland Line: Some trains run to a changed timetable and stopping pattern due to trackwork on the T3 Bankstown Line.
- T8 Airport & South Line: Some trains may run to a changed timetable due to trackwork on the T3 Bankstown Line. On Saturday from 8.40am to 3pm, buses replace the all-stations trains between Wolli Creek and Revesby. Express trains continue to run but will not stop at stations between Padstow and Turrella. On Sunday from 9am to 3pm, trains may run to a changed timetable due to trackwork between Revesby and Turrella.
- T9 Northern Line: Buses replace trains between Hornsby and Strathfield. Trains run to a changed timetable between Strathfield and the City. Buses also replace T1 North Shore Line trains between Hornsby and Gordon, and metro services between Tallawong and Chatswood.
- Central Coast & Newcastle Line: Buses replace trains between Wyong and Gordon. Trains run between Newcastle Interchange and Wyong, some to a changed timetable. T1 North Shore Line trains run to a changed timetable between Gordon and the City. Buses also replace T9 Northern Line trains between Hornsby and Strathfield.
- South Coast Line: On Saturday from 3am to 11am, buses replace trains between Port Kembla and Wollongong, and between Dapto and Waterfall. Trains run between Bomaderry, Kiama and Dapto, some to a changed timetable. On Sunday from 2.30am to 9.50am, buses replace trains between Bomaderry, Kiama and Wollongong. Trains run between Port Kembla, Wollongong and the City Circle, some to a changed timetable. The 2:39am Kiama to Bondi Junction service will run up to 19 minutes earlier than the normal timetable from Kiama to Coniston, then run to the normal timetable from Wollongong to Bondi Junction.

The following Sydney Buses services run to Sydney Olympic Park:
- Route 525 runs between Parramatta and Burwood via Sydney Olympic Park.
- Route 526 runs from Rhodes to Burwood via Sydney Olympic Park Ferry Wharf
- Route 533 runs from Sydney Olympic Park to Chatswood via Rhodes and North Ryde.

The closest wharf to Ken Rosewall Arena is Sydney Olympic Park Wharf. There is a connecting 526 bus to the venue or alternatively it is approximately a 40-minute walk (3.6km) from the wharf.
F3 Parramatta River services run regularly to Olympic Park, but services are very popular and may reach capacity. Keep this in mind if you’re planning on catching an F3 Parramatta River service. Plan your trip and allow plenty of extra travel time or consider the alternative public transport options available.

L2 Randwick light rail services run between Circular Quay and Randwick via Central Station (Chalmers Street) and L3 Kingsford line services run between Circular Quay and Juniors Kingsford via Central Station (Chalmers Street). Traffic may be heavier than usual on roads approaching Sydney Olympic Park including on the M4, Parramatta Road, Homebush Bay Drive and Concord Road as fans travel to and from the matches.
If you’re driving, travel with your group, allow extra travel time and pre-book your parking online ahead of time to secure a space – available until 11:59pm the night before the match or until sold out.

If you’re using taxis or rideshare, remember that roads may be closed within the precinct. Allow plenty of extra travel time due to the increased traffic expected in the precinct before and after the event.
When leaving, choose a pick-up location away from the immediate area around the venue to avoid delays.
There is no designated rideshare pick up location in the precinct. Demand for rideshare will be high and prices are likely to be surging. Avoid the traffic delays while roads are closed and consider catching a train or bus outside of the precinct instead to catch rideshare.

Sydney Olympic Park Car Parks
If you have to drive, carpool with your group and pre-book parking online in advance to secure a space.

A number of key train stations have large commuter car parks, so consider parking at a station near you then catching one of the extra trains to Olympic Park.
