Book a taxi or rideshare service when planning a trip

In a trial, Transport for NSW has partnered with third party operators to provide taxi or rideshare trip options for customers.

When you plan a trip, you will be able to see some taxi and rideshare providers that operate in that area, with vehicle types, a price guide and an option to book. The vehicle type and price guide provided by the operator is an estimate only and may change once the trip details are entered into the operator specific app.

If you chose to book a trip with a third party operator, you may need to download an app and register with the operator to book a journey. The booking is exclusively with the third party provider and is not the responsibility or subject to the control of Transport for NSW.

The addition of taxi, hire vehicle or rideshare providers gives you more choice. You can compare an end-to-end drive option with public transport, walking and cycling and make more informed decisions on the fastest and most cost effective mode of transport to get you to your destination.

The rights and responsibilities of customers in a taxi or hire vehicle remain the same.

In some instances, the origin and destination information may be transferred to the operator app from the Trip Planner, however no other information is shared. Any information collected will be treated in accordance with the Privacy Personal Information Protection Act 1998 (NSW) (PPIPA).
